Our Mission
The Florida Indoor Air Quality Council brings together professionals across disciplines to advance healthier indoor environments throughout Florida through collaboration, education, research, evidence-based practices, professional accountability, consumer protection, and informed public policy.
Our mission is to bridge the gap between building science, HVAC, indoor environmental assessment and remediation, and human health; establish a trusted forum for multidisciplinary expertise; promote practices grounded in science and professional integrity; and advocate for standards and policies that better protect Florida's property owners and occupants.
Evidence-Based Policy
We bring multidisciplinary expertise to Florida’s indoor air quality policies, advocating for reasonable standards, greater accountability, and stronger consumer protections grounded in science and real-world practice.
Scientific Integrity
We promote evidence-based practices, professional accountability, and transparency across the industries and disciplines that affect indoor environmental quality.
Education
We provide trusted, science-based education to help professionals, property owners, healthcare providers, and policymakers better understand indoor environmental conditions and make informed decisions.
Be a Part Of
the Solution
Improving indoor air quality requires more than one profession, one perspective, or one solution. The challenges affecting Florida's indoor environments cross the boundaries of HVAC, building science, mold assessment and remediation, environmental health, medicine, research, engineering, and public policy.
Meaningful progress happens when knowledgeable professionals from these disciplines are willing to share their expertise, challenge assumptions, and work together toward better outcomes.
The Florida Indoor Air Quality Council welcomes professionals who believe our industries can do better and who want to be part of that progress.
Membership provides an opportunity to contribute your experience, participate in multidisciplinary discussions, support education and research, help identify gaps in current practices, and contribute to the development of evidence-based guidance that protects both professionals and the public.
Whether you work in the field, the laboratory, the clinic, the classroom, or the regulatory and policy environment, your perspective can help strengthen the conversation. We are building a community of professionals committed to scientific integrity, professional accountability, consumer protection, and healthier indoor environments throughout Florida.
If you share that commitment, we invite you to reach out, become a member, and be part of the solution.
